The app stops idling at full throttle. Every page in the garage was running a slow drift across the background behind everything else, permanently — a soft haze you were never meant to notice, which is exactly the problem: it kept your phone's graphics chip awake from the moment a page opened until you closed it, and forced every frosted bar on screen to re-blur itself sixty times a second to keep up with it. The haze is still there, still the same four colours, just parked. Measured across the whole cycle it moved the picture by four levels out of two hundred and fifty-five, so you are not losing anything you could see, and the page can finally sit still. Behind the scenes a few more things stopped running for nobody: the stand-in artwork that covers a scene while it loads kept animating underneath the real one long after it had been covered up, every signed in page was carrying the full text of all one hundred and sixty-nine release notes ever written just in case this box needed to open, the animation library loaded on ten pages that never animate anything, and collector badges were downloading a poster-sized image to draw a chip the size of this full stop. Same garage, same everything, considerably cooler in your hand.
